Windmill Primary School is a warm, friendly and happy place to be. We pride ourselves upon our openness and the way in which we make ourselves available at all times. Windmill is a community within which pupils, parents, staff, Governors and everyone associated with our school all learn together in partnership and in an atmosphere of co-operation and tolerance. As a community we strive to promote self-discipline, autonomy, understanding, perseverance and independence. We firmly believe that every child possesses great potential and that we need to build upon this at every opportunity. We aim to achieve this by offering a thematic curriculum that is appropriate, creative, challenging and stimulating. We encourage children to learn from first-hand experience and to take an active part in the learning process. Our practical multi-faceted curriculum offers all of our children challenge and fosters in them a love and enjoyment of learning. Our work on Critical Thinking develops a real questioning approach to children’s study of their world. Everyone at our school promotes excellence at each and every opportunity.
