Mrs Carroll: Special Educational Needs co-ordinator (SENCO), and part time teacher.
Available in school for appointments Monday, Tuesday and Thursday morning only. Please call in at the front office if you wish to make an appointment or telephone 01933 623121.
The class teacher should be your first point of contact if you have any worries about your child. My role is to offer advice on strategies to use or specific programmes to support a child through difficulties.
There are three main stages of provision – School Action, School Action + (where outside agencies are involved) and statement. Only a very small % of pupils will ever reach the final stage.
At Windmill we aim to identify pupil’s specific needs as early as possible as early intervention can often remedy a particular problem.
The school is supported by:
Children and young people’s service
Fairlawn Centre,
Wellingborough
(01933) 440289
This service offers the school access to a team of specialist teachers and advisors. The school also has access to the services of a educational psychologist. This is currently Jan Packer, who usually becomes involved at either school action + or statutory assessment stages.
Parents can also contact SNIP (Special Needs Involving Parents) for advice and support.
