(Key Stage 1 have a flexible playtime during the afternoon)
Although our teachers are always in school well before the beginning of the day, we always ask that no child is sent to school before 8.45 a.m. This is especially important during the colder months, but is always essential when we consider that, since all adults at school are heavily involved in preparing for the day ahead, no-one is available to supervise our children before 8.45 a.m. These means that, if the children are on the playground before 8.45 a.m. and have an accident, vital minutes could be lost. For all pupils, we open our doors at 8.45a.m. and allow them to come straight into school.
We do, however, always welcome the parents of our children both at the beginning of the school day as well as at the end. This is especially the case for the children in our Foundation Year where, at the beginning of the year, we actively encourage parents to join their children in their classrooms for the start of the day’s activities.
When coming into school we always ask our parents to:
always leave all access points clear by standing well away from doorways and main pathways.
always park any vehicle outside the school grounds when either dropping children off for school or picking them up at the end of the day.
always park away from the main gate (this is an emergency access point)
always respect our neighbours when dropping children off at school and collecting them from school.
always keep dogs away from our school site (you know they are friendly, some of our children do not and therefore get very upset).
